Translate PDF runs on an encrypted secure worker
The worker extracts your PDF's selectable text and asks a configured AI model to translate only that text into your target language, then returns a translation package — Markdown, plain text, and a manifest recording the model and scope. It produces translated text (not a layout-preserving PDF) and never fabricates a translation: with no AI model configured, or a scanned PDF with no selectable text, it fails honestly instead of guessing.

No builder is shown until the worker is ready, so Translate PDF never pretends to produce a translation it cannot actually generate.

What happens
- 1. Encrypted uploadYour file is uploaded directly to short-lived, encrypted storage over a pre-signed URL.
- 2. Structural preflightEach file is checked that it really is the type it claims to be, and malformed ones are rejected. Files are not scanned for malware here.
- 3. Isolated processingA single-job sandbox with no network egress does the work, then is destroyed.
- 4. DownloadYou get a signed, expiring link to the result — no account required.
- 5. Auto-deleteInputs are wiped right after processing; outputs auto-delete within the retention window.

What happens to my file after Translate PDF runs?
The file is processed on an encrypted, isolated worker. Inputs are wiped when the job finishes, the download link stops working after 60 minutes, and stored copies are erased by a daily storage rule.

How much of my PDF can Translate PDF translate in one run?
10,258 characters of selectable text per pass — about 5 sparsely-set pages, or 1 page of dense text. Translation writes roughly as much as it reads, so that ceiling is the model's output budget — far below the reading cap the other AI tools state. A LONGER DOCUMENT IS NOT REFUSED: it is split at page boundaries and translated a few pages at a time, then reassembled in order. Two things bound how far it gets. A SINGLE page holding more than that many characters cannot be translated at all — it is skipped, and the result says so in place, at the point where that page was. And a document longer than the free daily allowance leaves for it is translated as far as the allowance reaches, with the rest marked in place and the reason named, so nothing stops silently.
