System status

pdf.xyz is a privacy-first, browser-first platform. This page shows exactly what runs where in this environment — checked live, with no over-promising. It never reports on your files, only on capabilities.

In-browser tools

Available

29 tools run entirely on your device with WebAssembly and browser APIs — your files never leave the browser. The page and its processing engine load over the network, with the engine fetched the first time you use a tool; after that the work itself runs on your device.

Secure worker

Checking worker availability…

pdf.xyz is browser-first: whenever a tool can run on your device, it does, and nothing is uploaded. A secure worker is only ever used for work the browser genuinely can't do — and only after it's clearly labeled.

Worker operations

The operator's view of the secure-worker stack — is it healthy, and what is the one next action? Read live from the content-free operations snapshot. It reports on capabilities and configuration only, never on your files.

What runs where

In-browserFiles never leave your device

Runs entirely on your device with WebAssembly and browser APIs. Files are never uploaded.

HybridFiles uploaded (encrypted, auto-deleted)

Runs in your browser when it can, with an encrypted secure-worker fallback for large or complex files.

Secure workerFiles uploaded (encrypted, auto-deleted)

Runs on an encrypted, isolated worker that processes and then permanently deletes your files.

AIFiles uploaded (encrypted, auto-deleted)

Runs on secure AI infrastructure. Your content is processed to answer your request and is never used to train models.

Secure-worker, hybrid, and AI tools upload your file to an encrypted worker and tell you so before you run them — pdf.xyz never fakes processing in the browser. See the worker architecture and security docs for how uploads, scanning, isolation, and auto-delete work.
