Make scanned PDFs searchable and selectable.

Run optical character recognition to add a searchable, copyable text layer to scanned PDFs.

Secure workerIn: PDF, JPG, PNGOut: PDF, TXT

Files are processed on an encrypted, isolated worker and permanently deleted shortly after.

How it works

  1. 1Upload your PDF, JPG, PNG file over an encrypted connection.
  2. 2Choose your options.
  3. 3The secure worker processes the file and deletes the input when the job finishes.
  4. 4Download the result — the link stops working after 60 minutes.

OCR PDF runs on an encrypted secure worker

Optical character recognition needs a native OCR engine, so it runs on an isolated, auto-deleting worker rather than in your browser. Configure the recognition below — we'll show exactly what happens to your file, and never fake a result.

Recognition settings

Languages (up to 4)

Select every language printed on the page — a page that mixes Bengali with English technical terms needs both. The wrong language does not produce an error, it produces plausible-looking gibberish.

Output

Add an invisible, selectable text layer under the original scan. It looks identical, but the text becomes selectable and searchable.

What happens to your file

  1. 1. Encrypted uploadYour file is uploaded directly to short-lived, encrypted storage over a pre-signed URL.
  2. 2. Structural preflightEach file is checked that it really is the type it claims to be, and malformed ones are rejected. Files are not scanned for malware here.
  3. 3. Isolated processingA single-job sandbox with no network egress does the work, then is destroyed.
  4. 4. DownloadYou get a signed, expiring link to the result — no account required.
  5. 5. Auto-deleteInputs are wiped right after processing; outputs auto-delete within the retention window.

No account required. OCR runs on an isolated secure worker: files are encrypted in transit and at rest, recognized in a sandbox with no network egress, and deleted automatically. It's enabled per deployment — see our worker architecture and security docs.

What this tool can do

Languages
21 recognition languages advertised, up to 4 per job — the worker's own live report governs which packs are actually installed.

Common questions

What happens to my file after OCR PDF runs?

The file is processed on an encrypted, isolated worker. Inputs are wiped when the job finishes, the download link stops working after 60 minutes, and stored copies are erased by a daily storage rule.

Up to 100 MB per file.

Which languages can OCR recognize?

21 languages are advertised, with up to 4 selectable per job. The worker reports the packs it actually has installed, and the page's live status reflects that report.
