PDF to PDF/A
Archive-oriented PDF/A-2b, made with Ghostscript.
Convert PDFs to PDF/A-2b for long-term archiving — processed by Ghostscript on a secure worker that deletes the input when the job finishes.
Files are processed on an encrypted, isolated worker and permanently deleted shortly after.
How it works
- 1Upload your PDF file over an encrypted connection.
- 2Choose your options.
- 3The secure worker processes the file and deletes the input when the job finishes.
- 4Download the result — the link stops working after 60 minutes.
PDF to PDF/A runs on an encrypted secure worker
PDF/A conversion uses Ghostscript on the isolated worker to create an archive-oriented PDF/A-2b file. It produces a real PDF output or fails honestly — no browser placeholder and no fabricated compliance claim. We do not validate the result against the PDF/A specification, so this is a best-effort conversion rather than a certification. PDF/A cannot represent everything a PDF can, and anything Ghostscript has to remove is listed with your download.
Checking whether a secure worker is available…
No uploader is shown until the worker is ready, so PDF/A conversion never pretends to process a file it cannot actually run.
Pressing it sends us the tool's name — nothing about you.
What happens to your file
- 1. Encrypted uploadYour file is uploaded directly to short-lived, encrypted storage over a pre-signed URL.
- 2. Structural preflightEach file is checked that it really is the type it claims to be, and malformed ones are rejected. Files are not scanned for malware here.
- 3. Isolated processingA single-job sandbox with no network egress does the work, then is destroyed.
- 4. DownloadYou get a signed, expiring link to the result — no account required.
- 5. Auto-deleteInputs are wiped right after processing; outputs auto-delete within the retention window.
